LITERACY CAMP 2017
Over 68% of the children in our local high school in Southeast Atlanta will fail to graduate, with reading below grade level being the major factor why many students drop out. Our Summer Literacy Camps offer free literacy-based camp experiences for children in our neighborhood who are reading below grade level. On average we see students advance between .5 and 1.5 grades of reading level in the course of stuff weeks of camp. Serving 45 students a week, we offer lunch, breakfast and healthy snacks, in addition to over 20 hours of literacy based group reading, games, drama, fluency tools as well as one on one coaching.
